This is not a charitable donation
The First Tell Project is not currently a registered charity and does not issue charitable tax receipts. Contributions support development of our public education, survivor-navigation, research and safeguarding work. Please do not contribute if you require an official donation receipt.
Where contributions go
| Cost | Why it comes first |

| Specialist review | Child-protection, forensic-interview, clinical and legal review of the TELL Protocol and educational content. This is the single highest priority and the thing that most limits us. |
| Legal and incorporation | Canadian nonprofit structure, name and trademark clearance, and the charity-status question. |
| Resource verification | Someone has to open every link, check every number, and do it again every quarter. It is unglamorous and it is the difference between a directory and a liability. |
| Accessibility and translation | WCAG 2.2 AA testing with real assistive technology, and human French translation. |
| Privacy and security review | Required before the Survivor Record is built, not after. |
| Hosting and infrastructure | Modest, and deliberately so. |
We are not asking for money for a logo, an office or a launch event.

Something worth more than money
Specialist review, an institutional pilot, a verified provincial routing table, or an introduction to someone who can do one of those. Right now these unblock more than funding does.
If charitable status is granted
If and when The First Tell Project becomes a registered charity, the giving architecture changes to compliant receipting, the disclosure above is replaced sitewide with accurate registration language, and this page will say so on the day it happens. Until then, every page carries the current status in the footer.
What we will not do for money
- Put child-safety or survivor-navigation information behind a paywall.
- Accept sponsorship that compromises child safety, survivor agency or editorial independence.
- Use survivor stories as fundraising material.
- Use shock imagery or statistics to prompt giving.
- Claim charitable status, expert validation or certification we do not have.
