Privacy

The short version: this site has no analytics, no trackers, no cookies and no advertising. The only personal information we hold is what you type into a form and send us on purpose.

What we collect

WhenWhatWhyKept for
You send a formName, email, and what you typedTo reply to youTwo years from last contact, then deleted
You tick the newsletter boxEmail, plus the date and source of your consentTo send updates, and to prove your consent as required by CASLUntil you unsubscribe, plus three years for the consent record
Any page loadStandard server log entries held by our hostSecurity and uptimeAs short as our host allows

Consent is unbundled. Ticking a newsletter box is never a condition of sending a form, and no box on this site is pre-ticked. Unsubscribing takes one click and we act on it promptly.

The jurisdiction selector and the resource directory

The jurisdiction selector on the immediate response page runs entirely in your browser. Your choice is not sent anywhere and is not stored. The resource directory loads a file from this site; no request goes to any third party.

The quick-exit button

It replaces the current page so the Back button does not return here. It does not erase your browsing history and cannot hide anything from someone with access to your device, your browser profile or your network. We will not pretend otherwise.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@firsttellproject.com. We follow the fair information principles set out by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as a design baseline, whether or not every activity is legally covered by PIPEDA.

Future products

The Survivor Record and the Second Injury Index would involve materially more sensitive information. Neither will collect anything until a separate privacy and security review has been completed and published, and this notice is rewritten to cover it.
